Medical Forms

Medical Forms are now available on the website and on the D.C. Board.  It is incredibly important that all forms are completed accurately and promptly!

Please have all forms completed and turned in to Ms. Proulx or Mr. Puglisi by Friday, November 22.

Fundraisers for November and December

With the help of our incredible parent-led fundraising team, our first two fundraisers are up and running!  Please use the Fundraising tab for more information on our first two fundraisers, an UNOS dine-out night on Tuesday, November 5 and the Dave & Busters Power Card individual fundraiser!

All flyers and more information on how to help get involved with fundraising can be found under the Fundraising tab to the left!

Waitlisted? Not a problem!

If you signed up at the last minute and got put on a waitlist, do not panic!  You ARE on the trip!  We had so many last-minute registrations that we hit a cap we didn't even know existed.  So many more students than we expected that we broke registration?  That's a pretty great problem to have.

I've already been in contact with EF, so not to worry.  They should be reaching out to you soon to officially register you for the trip.

Once everyone is registered, we'll be in touch with the next step in the D.C. process.  Please use this website, the Remind, and the trip Instagram to keep track of all updates and deadlines.

Registration for the 2020 Trip is now live!

If you were unable to attend the informational meeting on 6/11, please go to the Trip Overview tab for the information that was shared.

If you would like to get involved with fundraising to lower the cost of the trip for all students, please go to the Fundraising tab and fill out the contact information form.

If you would like to register your student for the trip (the sooner you register, the lower your payments), please go to the Registration tab.

If you have further questions after reviewing these materials, please do not hesitate to reach out to Mr. Puglisi or Ms. Proulx!


Welcome!

Welcome to the home of the South Middle School Grade 8 Washington, D.C. Trip.  We are pleased to announce that the 2020 trip was officially approved by school committee!  The trip will be from Wednesday, March 18 through Saturday, March 21.

There will be an informational meeting for all South seventh grade students and parents interested in registering for next year's trip.  The meeting will be held in the South auditorium at next Tuesday, June 11, at 6:00.  We hope to see you there.

If you found your way here from East, not to worry!  The trips will be running separately from now on.  The East trip will run in May 2020 and more information will be made available to you in the fall.


Getting Ready for the Big Day!

Final itinerary, room, bus, and chaperone assignments have been posted on the Pre-Departure Meeting page.  Note that you'll need your child's @braintreeschools.org login to access the information.   If you missed the pre-departure meeting, please find your chaperone and check in with them if you haven't already.  They have sweet EF swag to give you!

Here are my last two reminders for next Thursday:
1) Be at your school no later than 5:45 a.m. on Thursday morning.  We leave at 6:00!
2) BRING A LUNCH so you don't starve on the bus ride down.  I'm not sharing my bus ride Swedish Fish.

Medical Forms

Medical Forms for the trip are now available in schools and under the "Medical Form" tab to the left.  All Medical Forms are due no later than Friday, January 18.

It is incredibly important that this information is accurate and returned to Ms. Leader, Ms. Proulx, or Mr. Puglisi as soon as possible so that school nurses can begin reviewing information and preparing for the trip.  Please let us know if you have any questions.

Roommate Requests

All roommate requests are due by TOMORROW!  Right now, about half of the students at each school have completed them.  If you have not turned in a request by tomorrow night, we will be choosing roommates for you!  Go to the roommate tab to the left to find the directions for filling out the roommate request.

Registration Deadline

Just a reminder that the deadline to register with EF is this Friday!  If you have not registered with EF by Friday, you may lose your spot on the trip!  Directions for how to register were e-mailed a few weeks ago (and if you applied last week, they'll be on their way today).

If you have questions about the payment process or available plans, go to the Payment tab of the website.  Please note that all payments are done through the tour company, not the schools, so most questions can be answered by EF.

If you haven't received instructions to register by tomorrow, please let us know!


Fall Photo Sessions - South Fundraiser

Our first fundraisers are off the ground!  South will be hosting family photo sessions courtesy of Kate Walsh Photography.  $100 of every $125 session will be donated to the South trip!  Please see the Fundraising tab to the left for more information and a link to the sign-up page.
